This book is a significant departure from John de Groot's other publications. They have been
legal texts, principally dealing with wills and estate law in which he is an accreditated specialist.
John's legal career began in 1973 when he was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland. He is still a practicing lawyer but spent more than a decade and a half as a law teacher and currently serves as an adjunct professsor of law at the TC Beirne School of Law, University of Queensland.
Those who know John well have always been aware of another special interest of his - goat racing!
Long promised to his family and friends, this book fulfils his wish to record his career as a goat racer. It
was short (1956-1960) but eventful and successful.
John lives in Brisbane with his wife Margot and children, Alice and Geoffrey.
